1. Advent is a time to Remember.

 

1. On the second Sunday of Advent we intentionally remember the anticipation of Peace.

 

2. The Tree of Jesse is a metaphor:

 

1. The Tree of Jesse is first and foremost a metaphor for the Lineage of Jesus.

 

1. The Tree of Jesse also represents the Kingdom of Judah.

 

3. Christianity is the religion of the meek.

 

1. Remembering your humble beginning helps you to realign your identity with Christ in the present, because…

 

1. . . . for Judah, this hope of a new sprout out of the Stump of Jesse was everything to them.

 

1. Our self-sufficiency has the potential to get in the way of our full trust in the Messiah.

 

4. The Kingdom of Judah had a general lack of peace.

 

1. What we cannot fix, God can.
