Introduction: Chippee the Parakeet

1. The King’s Command (verses 1-7)

1. Universal Command: (vs. 4-5).

• Exodus 20:4-6

1. Universal Consequences: Do it or be thrown into a fiery furnace (v. 6)
2. Universal Compliance: All fell down (v.7)

• Romans 1:20-25

1. Defiance of the King’s Decree (verses 8-18)
2. The tale of the tattletales (vs. 8-12).
3. The King’s furious assertion (vs. 13-15)
   • “…what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?”
4. Courageous defiance (vs. 16-18).

III. Trial by Fire (verses 19-23)

1. Seven-times hotter = the fullness of the trial (v19)
2. Subdued by strongest soldiers (v. 20-22)
3. Falling into the fire (v. 23).

1. Divine Deliverance (verses 24-30)
2. A fourth in the fire! (v. 24-25)
3. Salvation realized (v. 26-27)
4. Praise be to the Most High God (v. 28-30)
